Domaine de l'Ile MargauxSeen from the air, Ile Margaux resembles a comma, clinging to the Médoc peninsula; in reality, a narrow strait separates the two. It is therefore not surprising to find that since the early 18th century there have been vineyards planted on the island. In the mid 19th centurym the island formed part of Château Margaux estate; it then passed into the hands of the owners of Château d'Angludet, who, in turn, sold it to the Miailhe family, owners of several châteaux in the Médoc. In 1988, the island came under the management of three dynamic partners with keen interest in the wines of the region. Thehy have decided to give a new impetus to the quality of the wines produced on the Ile Margaux. Domaine de L'Ile Margaux produces only one Bordeaux Supérieur, from vines covering the entire island.Domaine de l'Ile Margaux in Quebec |
