Château de la Jaubertie

The Rystone Group was formed in November 1993 to establish an international wine production and distribution company applying modern winemaking and marketing techniques across a diverse range of wine producing areas.

The Group operates on the philosophy that, through the control of and involvement in all stages of the winemaking, marketing and distribution processes, the Group taylors its wine and production to market requirements and accordingly has the ability to take advantage of changing world-wide demand.

Rystone Wines S.A. was formed to be the holding company and specifically to acquire Hugh Ryman Wines SARL and the Château des Sours companies. In 1994, it acquired Château La Jaubertie, and in 1995 a 50% shareholding in Château Vignelaure.

In 1996, the Board decided to concentrate the Group's resources increasingly on developping its portfolio of wine brands which are marketed internationally. Château des Sours is consequently sold in April 1997.
