Bonterra

Bonterra is loosely derived from French and Latin, meaning "good earth." The Bonterra brand represents a commitment to improve wine quality, ensure worker safety and exemplify respect for the earth on which we live. Bonterra wines are made only from grapes that are certified organically grown - No pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilizers are used in the vineyards. Natural "old world" farming methods have greatly increased consistency and fruit quality in the vineyards. Inland Mendocino County vineyards, on California's North Coast, provide perfect growing conditions for grapes, with very warm days and cool ocean breezes at night.<br> The result is perfectly balanced wines that work with a wide variety of contemporary dishes. Very low levels of sulfites prevent oxidation, while ensuring freshness in the wines. All Bonterra wines are aged in American and French oak barrels, hand-crafted in a time honored tradition at the only winery owned cooperage in America.
